For 35 years, the Canton Friendship Center has fostered a safe, comfortable place for individuals with disabilities to socialize with others. As a program of CommQuest Services, the center provides peer support as well as other necessities, such as food, to its members and the community.

Through the Foodbank’s Agency Direct Pickup program (ADP), the Canton Friendship Center is able to receive food for its distributions in an innovative way. The ADP program gives partners within the Foodbank’s network the ability to pick up groceries and meals directly from food donors.

The Canton Friendship Center picks up nourishing food from Little Caesar’s and Aldi.

“I’m glad this food is going to people who can utilize it instead of going to waste,” said Steve, store manager at Aldi.

Additionally, Canton Friendship Center also receives food from the Foodbank’s prepared and perishable food rescue program, Community Harvest.

“Our relationship with the Foodbank has been wonderful,” said Kathy Hurst, pantry manager at the Canton Friendship Center. “In addition to food, we have received so many great things like shampoo, laundry detergent, dish soap, deodorant, toothpaste and more for our clients.”

Because of your support, your Foodbank can continue to help connect Canton Friendship Center with resources to better serve the members of Stark County. Thank you!
