Dan Flowers

Foodbanker since 2003

“Early in my career, I began to see and understand the correlation between the work of the food bank and the tragic impacts of poverty, substance abuse, mental health disorders and incarceration I witnessed growing up. From that time on, food-banking became a purpose in life for me. Sharing this work with other people that see purpose in it too is among the greatest joys in life. It’s all about the people.”

2026 Stark County Hunger Walk

The Stark Hunger Walk is an annual community walk in Stark County focused on one important goal: fighting local hunger. In partnership with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, this event raises awareness and critical funds to support food pantries and provide meals for individuals and families in our community.

Participants raise funds, walk a family-friendly route (typically 2.1 miles), and come together afterward for a soup social. Best of all, every dollar donated provides multiple meals to neighbors in need.
