The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank announced its Harvest for Hunger campaign has fallen behind goal, and needs your support to raise its final $100,000 for its 2017 campaign to hit its goal by Sunday, April 30, 2017.
Beginning today, your donation is doubled and will go twice as far! At the Foodbank, $1 = 4 meals, but this week only, April 23- April 30, during its Harvest for Hunger Match Challenge, $1 = 8 meals. Your donation, up to $19,000, will be matched by The Goodyear Tire & Robber Company and friends of the Foodbank including, Lynn Cavalier.
“We are approaching the finish line, but need your help to finish strong for families and nighbors struggling with hunger,” said Dan Flowers President & CEO of the
Akron- Canton Regional Foodbank. “Surpassing our Harvest for Hunger goal is the only option, friends!”
Harvest for Hunger is the Foodbank’s largest fundraising initiative and is a collaborative effort of four Ohio food banks serving 21 counties in Northeast Ohio. It’s
being led locally by two respected leaders from the media industry, Mark Cohen, Publisher of the Akron Beacon Journal and Jim Porter, Publisher of GateHouse Ohio
Media.
One hundred percent of all Harvest for Hunger donations will go directly toward feeding hungry men, women and children in our community. Donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and workplace giving campaigns during the two-month campaign provide funding for a range of programs benefiting the Foodbank’s 8-county service area.
“It’s a beautiful thing teaming up like this, and I’m so proud of this campaign and your willingness to rally around your Foodbank.” said Flowers. “Thank you for all you do, and I look forward to meeting our campaign goal, together!”
