If you have excess home-grown produce, consider donating it to a local hunger-relief program near you or to the Foodbank.
Donation Guidelines
- Donated produce should have at least 3-5 days of shelf life.
- Use good hygiene practices when harvesting and handling fresh produce.
- If transporting produce in the bed of a pick-up truck, cover the produce during transportation.
Donate to a local hunger-relief program near you
The Foodbank is partnered with approximately 600 hunger-relief programs across eight counties. Search food programs near you. Please call ahead to ensure they accept garden donations and to confirm donation hours.
Donate to your Foodbank
If you’d prefer to donate your excess produce to the Foodbank, please follow the guidelines below. Drop-off hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-3:30pm.
Main Campus, located at 350 Opportunity Parkway in Akron
- Please go to the Shipping & Receiving entrance – this is located east of the main entrance and is marked by signage.
- If the gate is closed, simply ring the buzzer and it will be opened.
- Park near the first garage door labeled Food Donations.
- Ring the doorbell near the man-door to alert our staff of your arrival.
- Someone on our team will meet you there, help unload the donation from your vehicle, and weigh your donation! Thank you!
Stark County Campus, located at 1365 Cherry Ave. SE in Canton
- Access the donation drop-off area from the 14th Street entrance.
- Park near the garage door labeled Food Donations.
- Ring the doorbell near the man-door to alert our staff of your arrival.
- Someone on our team will meet you there, help unload the donation from your vehicle, and weigh your donation! Thank you!
