Paper Plate Campaign

Join the Paper Plate Campaign!

Help us send a strong message to our leaders and let the voice of your clients be heard. While economic experts may claim that the recession is over, many Ohioans still rely on social service agencies to help make ends meet. Our leaders need to know what these services mean to families. We want to send thousands of paper plates to our legislators during the budget process, which should be finalized in June. Can you help us send this important message?

Why is the State Budget so important to Ohio's food banks?

The Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks has requested a continuation of funding in the amount of $34 million in the upcoming state budget on behalf of Ohio's food banks to support the purchase of food and grocery products under the Ohio Food Purchase and the Ohio Agricultural Clearance Programs (OFP & OACP). These dollars support the distribution of free food to Ohio's 12 food banks and their member agencies with food pantry, hot meal or shelter programs. Read the official funding request and have your agency endorse the request.
